The Rules.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rules are subject to change at the administrators' discretion, although a notice of any major rule changes/additions/deletions will be posted. The dealing of warnings for breaking rules is also up to the administrators and moderators. (don't worry though, we're fairand too lazy to hand out warnings.) Feel free to message Demosthenes with any questions about the rules

Out of Character
- This forum is PG13. This means keep all photos, links, and posts age appropriate. Although we do allow a mild to moderate amount of cursing, please try and limit yourself.
- Do not spam in the forum. This includes, but is not limited too; one word/unnecessary replies, multiple posts immediately following each other (you may use the edit post feature if your last post needs something added to it. Otherwise, someone else should be posting between your posts so they're not one after another), posts containing only smileys, etc.
- Respect everyone on the forum. This includes all members and staff.
- No advertising anywhere other than the advertising forum. This includes, but is not limited too; posting links to other roleplay forums, asking others to join another roleplay forum, etc. You may however talk about and link to non-roleplay sites, such as Chicken Smoothie, Tumblr, etc.
- Please note--for most of the forum's boards you will not be able to post right away. Once you have created your first character and have had it approved, you will be added to a proven members group and will then be able to post in the roleplay sections, ooc, etc. Some boards are open to non-approved members posting (such as suggestions board) or are even guest friendly posting (advertising/affiliations, help board). Just about every board is guest-viewable.
Character Details
- You may only roleplay cats at first. Other animals will not be accepted unless they've been purchased from the shop.
- Regarding shop purchased animals, you can only roleplay one non-domestic cat at a time on each account.
- You get five free character slots on your account. If you'd like more, you will have to create another account. Or, you may buy another character slot in the store.
- We have small word minimum of 30 words in the roleplay area. This keeps out spam and pushes for minimal effort to be placed in the posts. However, you are free to 'tag' your threads as advanced or semi-advanced to indicate you'd like to RP at a higher level. Read about the tagging system here. We have a word counter that appears below the posting space so you can know your word count as you type.
- List your characters out somewhere. We have profile fields for listing the names of all of your characters--use them. Listing them there will be sufficient, although you're welcome to detail them out in your signature or in the Character Gallery.
- No mary sues or sad sallys. This means your cats can't be perfect, loved-by-everyone angels, nor can their backstories all be tragic tales of death and turmoil. While, when used nicely, death and turmoil can make for interesting character development, there's a gotta be a limit.
- We are very lenient with character names. These cats have traveled huge distances, seen things they wouldn't of otherwise dreamed of, interacted with hundreds of kittypets over their time who tell them of many twoleg inventions, and have experienced every emotion from the most intense state of euphoria to the bleakest onsets of misery and sorrow. Go ahead and name your cat Cerealbowl if you want, we won't care.
- Purebred cats must be purchased in the shop. Therefore you can't freely create siamese, persian, etc. cats.
- No unnatual eye colors. No red, purple, rainbow, etc. eyes.
- If you want a cat with a deformity, you will need to purchase it from the shop. Deformed characters include, but are not limited too; characters with missing limbs, deaf cats, blind cats, cats missing and eye, etc. If your character is injured in context, however, that is perfectly fine and does not require a shop purchase.
- We use liquid time, so you're free to have your characters in several threads.
- You may not sign up with a leader or deputy character. These are picked in context. However, you may sign up for a medicine cat or medicine cat apprentice if a clan doesn't already have one.
In Character
- No godmodding, power-playing, or auto-hitting. This means you cannot control another user's character in any way (unless they've given you permission that is stated for all to see.) You also cannot automatically hit another person's character. You can aim to bite so-and-so's leg, but you cannot automatically claim to bite them.
- As an extension to the above rule, it is unrealistic to be able to dodge every attack. Ultimately it is up to each person what happens damage wise to their cat, but by getting involved in battles/attacks/fights, you've signed up for at least a couple scratches.
- Your cats may have a litter up to six kittens big, and up too three litters total. You can purchase more kitten and litter slots in the store. If you cannot find all the kits roleplayers by apprenticeship, they will be assumed dead/missing(and never to return.)
- Be realistic when considering time involving apprenticeship, mates, and pregnancy. Apprentices and mentors should have a couple threads together training before the apprentice can become a warrior. Cats should knows each other and roleplay together a bit before developing a crush on one another or becoming mates. Queens should be pregnant for a couple of real-life weeks (2-3) before kitting. However, there is no set thread or time minimum. We trust you to be realistic.
- That reminds me! Remember to be realistic. Your character should not fly off during our conversation. Be considerate of what cats can and can't actually do.
